Féju ICT Group

Successful Upgrade from NAV 2017 to Business Central in the Cloud

Féju ICT Groep is an IT service provider based in Udenhout, the Netherlands. The organization had been working with Microsoft Dynamics NAV for many years and had a strong relationship with Vasilok for support and further development. As the existing NAV platform increasingly began to present limitations, Féju saw the need for a future-proof solution.

The Challenge

Féju ICT Groep had been working with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017 for many years. Although the system played an important role in the day-to-day operations of the business, the organization was increasingly running into the limitations of the platform.

One specific example was subscription management. Maintaining a subscription structure in NAV was cumbersome. In addition, Féju wanted to be able to access relevant customer information more quickly from a single, central customer card. This was also only possible to a limited extent within the existing NAV environment.

This raised an important question: how could Féju retain its existing business processes while also benefiting from the capabilities of a modern cloud-based ERP solution?

From NAV to Business Central

Together with Vasilok, Féju ICT Groep decided to migrate to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Rens van Vught advised Féju on the available options and the approach to the upgrade.

The project was not limited to technically transferring the existing NAV environment. The existing customizations were also critically reviewed, along with the possibilities offered by Business Central’s standard functionality. Wherever possible, custom development was reduced, resulting in a simpler and more future-proof system.

The complete upgrade was ultimately delivered in just two months.

The Approach

Within the project, Rens van Vught acted as the functional consultant and was Féju’s primary point of contact. He guided the organization through the functional decisions and coordinated the development work in collaboration with Stephan Feijen.

An important part of the approach was clearly distinguishing between what Business Central can do as standard and where additional development might be required. According to Anton van Dam, this expertise was particularly valuable:

“With his extensive knowledge and expertise, Rens is very good at advising on what is possible and – equally important – what is not possible.”

Féju ICT Groep took active responsibility for the project itself and invested significant time and effort in both the preparation and execution. This commitment on the customer side, combined with Vasilok’s close guidance, enabled the project to be completed within a short timeframe.

The Collaboration

The collaboration between Féju ICT Groep and Vasilok was already well established before the upgrade. Vasilok had been supporting Féju with its existing Navision system for many years.

The communication remained direct and efficient throughout the migration. On the Monday following the migration weekend, Rens was on-site for the entire day to support employees and address any questions immediately.

Anton van Dam therefore looks back positively on the collaboration:

“Rens responds quickly and always keeps his word; when he says he will get back to you, you don’t have to follow up yourself. And, last but not least, Rens brings humor to the collaboration and is always easy to reach.”

The Result

By moving to Business Central, Féju ICT Groep now has a modern ERP environment that better supports the organization’s current and future needs.

The key improvements include:

  • a future-proof Business Central SaaS environment;
  • a migration from NAV 2017 to the cloud;
  • reduced dependency on customizations;
  • improved capabilities for managing subscriptions;
  • more relevant customer information available directly within Business Central;
  • improved possibilities for integrating Business Central with other software;
  • a solid foundation for further digitalization and optimization.

Many of the requirements Féju had identified beforehand could be addressed using Business Central. As a result, the upgrade became more than just a technical migration: the system now better supports the way Féju wants to run and develop its organization.

Proud of the Result

Vasilok is proud that the upgrade was completed within the agreed timeframe and available budget. Féju ICT Groep’s active involvement played an important role in achieving this result.

According to Vasilok, the project clearly demonstrates that a successful Business Central upgrade is not solely dependent on technology. A clear approach, direct communication, and a customer that takes responsibility for the outcome are equally important.

Looking Ahead

The move to Business Central also provides a foundation for further development. One of the next steps is to integrate external software with Business Central. This will enable further process integration and allow Féju to make increasing use of the capabilities of its new cloud environment.

Why Vasilok?

Féju ICT Groep had already been working with Vasilok for some time and was satisfied with the collaboration. The organization therefore also chose Vasilok as its partner for the upgrade to Business Central.

According to Féju, the combination of in-depth knowledge, practical guidance, and direct communication contributed to the success of the project. The relationship has since grown beyond Business Central: Vasilok and Féju ICT Groep are also customers of each other.

“With Vasilok’s support, we were able to successfully complete the upgrade to Business Central. With his knowledge and expertise, Rens is very good at advising on what is and isn’t possible.”
